As screwed up as Goodreads has become the one thing that seems to be working spectacularly in a way GRs never imagined is the ratings. Really, think about it.
You have only to drop a 1 star rating on a book by accident or design for the brain dead, lazy ass, ego bloated, soaked in the stench of their own entitlement scribblers who want to think of themselves as authors to scream like a dying rabbit then run to that site and sing a chorus of "they done me wrong".
I say think of themselves as authors because a real author is professional enough to realize that you can't please everybody or maybe someone made a mistake, GRs is not an easy system to use and mistakes happen all the time, and the real author would have read the GRs TOS and realized that they had no basis for complaining.
That's right, dumbasses, I can stick any number of stars on any book I want.
Let me repeat that:
I CAN STICK ANY NUMBER OF STARS ON ANY BOOK I WANT, READ OR UNREAD.
So thank you to GRs for a most effective BBA detection system and to our latest would be author-
Suck it up, buttercup.
My patience has left the building.
