38% in on Gazzam's Uncaged and I'm just wondering how many 12 yr old girls would want to read a book about a prison takeover. Not saying there is anything wrong with those that do but thinking back to my much younger self it doesn't seem to be something that would blip on my radar.
Then there is the fact that it is a book about a prison takeover. Violence is a given. How much violence is appropriate for early teens? Multiple murders, torture, mentions of attempted gang rape, but if the MC is a hot young guy not very well fleshed out, I guess that makes it suitable for the younger set.
Did I mention he's trapped inside with the slightly older female reporter who has secretly slept with his dad, the governor?
I feel I should be doing a group read with my local girl scout troop.
